The increasing instability in the Middle East has generated significant consequences beyond the immediate region, particularly in the area of global tertiary education. This paper examines how ongoing conflicts affect higher education systems worldwide. It highlights the destruction of academic infrastructure, displacement of students and scholars, disruption of international student mobility, and the weakening of global research collaboration. The study also considers the psychological and academic implications for students within and outside the affected regions. Drawing on evidence from international organizations and media reports, the paper argues that the interconnected nature of global higher education makes it highly vulnerable to geopolitical crises. It concludes that sustained conflict in the Middle East not only undermines local educational development but also poses long-term challenges to global knowledge exchange, academic cooperation, and human capital development.
